DAY 2 : FINALLY MACHU PICCHU
We will continue to visit the lost city of the inkas, we will go by bus from Machu Picchu Town to the Ancient city
On this trail we will see beautiful scene, vegetation and extraordinary ecological varieties. It’s important to note that hiking to Rainbow Mountain can be challenging due to the high altitude and steep terrain, so it’s important to be in good physical condition and take necessary precautions to avoid altitude sickness. It’s recommended to book a tour with a reputable operator and to wear appropriate hiking gear, including layers, sturdy hiking boots, and a hat and sunscreen to protect from the sun at high altitude.
We`ll pick you up from your Hotel very early to transfer you for a 2 hour journey by private car to the Train Station in Ollantaytambo then we will go on Train according to your preferences category and after 1 hour and 45 minutes aprox. You’ll arrive to the km 104 start of the hike. We will start walking into the other side of the Vilcanota river the trail heads off to the right towards the ruins of Chachabamba, see the stone altar to the sun and the mountains a sacred rock for locals. After a visit in Chachabamba, we will continue the trail heads south and begin climbing the mountain, before entering the cloud forest. This is where trekkers can enjoy a beautiful waterfall. After leaving the waterfall and forest, trekkers will arrive at the lower part of the incredible ruins of Wiñaywayna. After lunch in Wiñaywayna we continue through a cloud forest full of bromelias, orchids and fern trees. You will walk the last part of the original trail with amazing features stone steps and tambos “resting places” and climb the 60 steps before arriving to the Inti Punku or “Sun`s Gate”. From this point you will be able to contemplate and observe this marvelous place, last 45 minutes to be on front of this wonder, where you can feel an inner peace. Spend a short time for pictures and views, with luck you can observe a magnificent sunset, then we prepare our mind for the next early morning, time to take a bus for 30 minutes to Aguas Calientes town. Hot springs pools are optional (bring your bathing suit and 10 soles) or just free time to chill out at this small village.
Early wake up early. and after breakfast in your hotel, re-live the history and the mysterious world of Machupicchu and the Incas, fuse with the mystic of this fascinating and unique place, discover yourself the perfect symbiosis and harmony created by nature and the Incas people. We take the first bus up at approx 05.20 am and arrive at the ruin`s gate before 06.00 am when the Park is open. This time is still not so crowded yet so we take advantage of the tranquility of this sacred site ; Guided Tour of Machupicchu. This enigmatic city is explored for Approx 2 hrs and their mysteries and archaeological information will be explained by your expert guide, ( you generally have approx 6 hrs extra free time but depends on train timetables in high season.)
After that return to Aguas Calientes by bus and then take the train to ollantaytambo and finale transport to Cusco by car.
We`ll pick you up from your Hotel very early to transfer you the tour rainbow mountain full day, we will go through the rugged mountain countryside of Peru to reach the aptly named Rainbow Mountain, striped with colorful mineral deposits and located far off the beaten path.
