REAL INCA TRAIL 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT

DAY 1: CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

We pick you up from the hotel in Cusco very early in the morning to transfer you for aprox.  1.45 hours to Ollantaytambo train station from there, you will take the train at 6:10 a.m. to Machu Picchu town for one hour and 30 minutes, once you arrive to Machu Picchu  town you will meet your transfer who will wait for you with your name to take you to the bus station to go to Machu Picchu main entrance where you will meet with our tour guide.

Once you go into Machu Picchu you will have a guided tour for about 2 hours, the guide will take you into Machu Picchu to explain to you all about the lost city of the Incas after you will have free time to explore the site on your own. If you like you can reserve the extra ticket for Huayna Picchu mountain which is take 2-hour hiking up and down. After visiting the archaeological site you take the bus back to Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes) to have enough time for meals and if you want you can explore the little town a bit more then you take the train back to Ollantaytambo for 1.5 hours and then by car to Cusco for 2 more hours. Arriving in Cusco around 10:00 pm.

This tour includes the entrance to Machu Picchu Solo and a 2 hour guided group visit. If you also want to visit one of the additional areas (Huayna Picchu, Mountain, or Huchuy Picchu) choose one of the 3 and add to your reservation the corresponding extra in the booking form:

– From Howlanders we consider it necessary to include this additional entrance fee so that travelers who want to visit one of the additional areas of the citadel can enjoy a complete experience in Machu Picchu.  It is not possible to visit two of the additional areas on the same day due to time constraints.

The tour starts in Cuzco, located (at 3,400 m.), and Machu Picchu village (Aguas Calientes) is at 1,000 meters less altitude. Therefore, you have to be equipped with warm clothes but also with short sleeves, as the nights are cold and during the day it is hot. Also keep in mind that the climate varies according to the time of year, especially in the rainy season (December – March).
